도치구문, 해석을 엉망으로 하지 않기 위하여

도치구문

도치에는 의문문처럼 도치가 되는 경우와 동사+주어 어순이 도치가 되는 경우 두가지가 있다.

그 첫 번째, 의문문처럼 도치가 되는 경우

1. 부정어(구)가 문두에 위치한 경우

부정어인 'not+부사(구 혹은 절)', hardly(scarcely, seldom, barely), little, never, under no circumstances, at no time,

on no account, no longer, not until'등이 문두에 위치하는 경우 의문문처럼 도치된다.

I shall never forget your kindness. (주어+조동사+부정어구+동사)

-> Never shall I forget your kindness. (부정어구+조동사+주어+동사)

She little realize the danger she is in. (주어+부정어구+일반동사)

-> Little does she realize the danger she is in (부정어구+do/dose/did+주어+동사원형)

We not only succeeded but we got much money.(주어+부정어구+일반동사)

-> Not only did we succeed but we got much money.  (부정어구+do/dose/did+주어+동사원형)
